Pulpit Update

What has happened to Pulpit?(By Nathan Busenitz)

We’ve received a number of emails, letters, and phone calls over the last couple weeks all wondering the same thing: What has happened to Pulpit?

I must admit that the outpouring of concern has been extremely encouraging … because it means that we’ve been missed. And we appreciate that!

I should also reassure all of you that Pulpit is not ending. In actuality, the website is being completely redesigned and retrofitted (and actually moved to a different hosting location). As a result, we felt it would be a good idea for us to take some time to rethink certain aspects of the blog — hence, the lack of articles over the last couple weeks. (Additionally, the fact that our staff recently finished up a major book project has made the production of new blog material even more difficult.)

So, when will the new, improved Pulpit go online?

Well, not until next year. But, since January, 2009 is just over a month away, the wait won’t be nearly as long as it sounds.

In the meantime, we will periodically post some articles here, just to keep things somewhat interesting. But just so everyone knows, Pulpit 2.0 will be coming to a computer near you just after the turn of the year.

Thank you Pulpit staff, all of you, for your sacrificial work. This work is SO glorifying to God, I believe. And helpful to me, as a trying, yet sinful, understudy of Christ. Thanks.

    Thank you Nate,

I must admit I am nostalgic and that I have loved the current layout and format.

I trust that if it is going to improve that Pulpit will be the BEST design ever!

Looking forward to your ongoing ministry to and with us.

    By grace alone,

    W

    Okay Great
I thought the NAVY had shut you down to me.
    In their infinite PC methodologies.
I have tried several times to re-subscribe to no avail
I was STILL not getting my daily reading, this really affected me. Thank you for the explanation and look forward to resumption

    Nate,

The book sounds very interesting and timely for me as well. I was considering doing a sermon series on what Scripture actually teaches about some of the important issues we face today.

Looking forward to reading the book.

    Blessings,
    Steve Lamm

Pulpit HAS definitely been missed. My five-minute business-owner lunch breaks have been sorely lacking. Looking forward to the new year and the new Pulpit!

That must be the answer as to why I haven’t received an email from Pulpit in over 2 months right? because of the website update?

  24. on 10 Dec 2008 at 1:01 am Alex

Yes! I too am longing to read your blog once again. I definately miss it as a college student in a secular campus. This blog has really help me keep my sanity in an anti-god atmosphere.

    Missing your leadership,

    Alex

Every day my heart grows a little sadder as my internet browser opens up to my home page and I see again the stagnant pool that the Shepherds Fellowship and the Pulpit have become sitting in the place that these once vibrant streams of truth and encouragement used to be.
But alas I do believe in resurrection power and so I await the rebirth of these two greatly missed resources of wisdom and insight.
Please return soon. I will never again take thee for granted.

    In Spanish:

    Hermanos en la Fe,

    Gracia y Paz.

Que buenas noticias las del hermano Nathan. Esperaremos la nueva version de Pulpit. Nosotros los de habla hispana, somo bastante edificados con los articulos que se escriben.

    Un Abrazo.

    Are we THERE Yet?
Can’t wait for the site to relaunch!

May the grace of our LORD Christ Jesus abound in and through you as you serve Him for His glory Alone in this coming year.

Your servant for the sake of the LORD, His Body and the lost.

Every day checking…nothing yet…absence makes the heart grow fonder. Even when I sometimes vehemently disagree with my brothers here, their intelligence and exhortations are always refershing and challenging./ See ya soon, Pulpit!

  29. on 06 Jan 2009 at 9:18 am Ivan

We miss you guys. I also keep checking. Come back…

  30. on 06 Jan 2009 at 1:37 pm Norm Eddy

    Oh Pulpit Where Art Thou?

  31. on 06 Jan 2009 at 11:18 pm Alex

Can you define “next year?” January 2009 is here, and still no site, no update, no nothing. C’mon guys, at least let us know what the status is.

    pretty please?

  32. on 08 Jan 2009 at 12:08 pm David M.

Tick tock, guys…not to pressure ya or nuttin’ , heh heh

  33. on 08 Jan 2009 at 2:49 pm Gabriel

I think this is the new site, and soon the sfpulpit.com will point there.

    Just a guess though…

  34. on 08 Jan 2009 at 6:01 pm RMB

This is what I found at the link Gabriel posted.

After two months offline, Pulpit is finally back. And we’ve made a few changes – beginning with the fact that we are now on a new server, being more closely tied-in with the Shepherds’ Fellowship website. (Soon all of our old URLs will point to this new location.) Over the coming weeks and months, you’ll notice some of the other changes we are making. We hope you will visit us often, interacting in the conversation, but for now we are just glad to be back. See you again soon.

    Will it ever happen?

“But just so everyone knows, Pulpit 2.0 will be coming to a computer near you just after the turn of the year.”

    2010…

    2011…

    ?

Ha Ha Ha! April Fool’s. I get it. Wait, it’s January, this isn’t.

Did you mean 2009 or 2109?

I’m just playing. Seriously, we ar anxious only because this blog is really helpful and insightful to all of us. I know that for me, it is very helpful in my college campus, expecially when debating non-believers, and when evangelizing.

    Please bring it back soon.
