I can relate with donsands, our first comment. People I work with don't want to hear anything about it. I say very little at work because I love to speak of The Lord. I got nothing much in common to relate to these people. I am the odd one out and they are all pals. So I only got a few moments here and there where I have something to say. And that is ok with me. I thought of saying as my greeting instead of just hello, hello we are one day closer to death where will you spend eternity! I could say that each day I enter the door instead of just hello. What do you think?

Just to add some clarity to my original comment: I have found that when you desire to show people the Savior and for them to understand the Cross—really understand what was accomplished, (should God chose to open their eyes as a result of that message) they will fall on their face before the King with humble repentant hearts of praise and thanksgiving.

When you desire to prove to them that they are sinners and to rescue them from Hell, they may intellectually admit that they are sinners (based on God’s standards) and see their need for a Savior (basically to avoid having to suffer themselves for their sins), and yet have no clue who He is and what He accomplished on their behalf.

Show them Christ and stand back. The Holy Spirit will convict them of sin as they see, for the first time, the light of the Glory and Grace of God in the face of Christ.

Please post this one - the other contained several typos: Thanks:

Thought provoking. As I was reading, I realized that my motivation for sharing Christ is slightly different and yet incrediably compelling. My desire to share Christ and the Gospel is simply because I love Him. My desire is that their eyes and hearts are opened to the Truth of the Gospel and to the Beauty of Christ so that they will (as a result of being saved) live lives that bring Glory and Praise to the Lord, whom I love, and that their lives will (in turn) show His reality in such a way as to usher more into the Kingdom.

I feel that any man that follow's Christ (or receives Christ) strictly out of fear; or, obeys with a desire for reward, has missed the point. I am convinced that God is more interested in His Glory than in our Salvation.

Just a thought.

"Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
- Mark 16:15

"Have you no wish for others to be saved?
Then YOU ARE NOT SAVED YOURSELF. Be sure of that."
- Charles H Spurgeon

The question is not whether we will preach the truth. We will preach the truth, because we have committed our lives and best hours to this cause. The question is whether we will preach the truth and be gripped by the truth in such a way that our heart is ripped apart for the holiness of God and the yearning for redemption of humanity.

But Don, It's EASY to share the Gospel in this country. Of course, we're going to suffer rejection, occasional scoffing, etc., but such is trivial compared to what the Lord, the apostles, and multitudes of witnesses through the ages have suffered. Christians in China, Vietnam, and Muslim countries put their lives on the line for the Gospel's sake today.

I know you know this, but we must remind ourselves continually that THERE IS NO OTHER PLAN. We cannot be a follower of Jesus Christ and not follow him in His great work -- to seek and to save that which is lost.

FURTHERMORE, if the Lord's return is imminent, then we should be diligent all the more. During the tribulation God will bring the "big guns" of judgment on this world, which will result in many conversions. It's essential that we sow the seed of the Gospel now so that the lost know how to repent and where to turn.

This isn't theory to me. A typical week for me includes giving out a thousand tracts, witnessing personally to as many as will stop to talk, and getting brushed off by several thousand. In the last few years I have seen just a handful of genuine conversions. Even one is infinite, though, and zero would not relieve me of responsibility.

If their house was on fire, and I went and helped them, they would be thankful, and if I mentioned their fate with out Christ, they would shun it, and even mock me.

This is why it's so difficult to share the Gospel. Becaus ethe unregenerate will hate the light, and will pull his claok of darkness upon it if he can.

But, there are those who will hear, and see, and their heart will cry out for this good news of mercy from God to a sinner.

I suppose why I become so disheartened is that i have not seen genuine conversions much at all. A few out of thousands.

I know God saved me, and I pray He would save whole neighborhoods, and communities. That His Spirit would sweep across this nation and His sovereign grace would bring many to life, and rescue their souls from everlasting destruction, for the glory of His name. Amen.
