Jesus never protested, campaigned, mediated, or advertised. He preached the gospel with authority, and how fitting that we should follow his example.

124 years ago he wrote this and it is as true today as it was then. Spurgeon is such a great gift to the Body of Christ, for his preaching of Jesus Christ, it is a shame that many pastors find his tone of preaching, irrelevant.

I too would wonder what it would be like if Spurgeon were able to write a blog today!

There is NO substitute for the Bread of Life that we all must feed on.

Is it any wonder they call Spurgeon the 'Prince of Preachers'? A couple of years back I wrote a little-known book called "Bibles, Baptists, and Britannia" (yes, that is a shameless plug) in which I quoted Spurgeon extensively. Since that time, I have been called on to preach on occasion, and this particular sermon has been my mantra. I can't improve on the simple, and life-giving Word of God.

What an awesome post. Makes me wish Spurgeon were alive and writing a blog today. And it makes me long to preach Christ better this Sunday!
