<description>I recently read an excerpt from a letter written by someone who was in a meeting room in England when John Wesley was preaching. He described a young lady who was wrought upon by the Holy Spirit and brought under the conviction of sin to the point that she moaned out loud. He then went on to describe the work of the Spirit that evening as both remarkable and sensible.

What an apt description of the true work of the Spirit. Much like what Jonathan Edwards has described...both remarkable and sensible; no barking, laughing, freezing in place, slaying, falling, fainting, and so forth. May we have manifestations of the Spirit again in our country as in the days of Edwards, Wesley, and Whitefield.
