It is very true that the atonement of all of our sin, already having occurred and that which has not yet to come, has been taken care of or atoned for. Which as the word declares has made us white as snow. The resurrection, however, is necessary to the Christian because if there is no resurrection then there is a covering of sin by the death and blood of Jesus but no conquering of sin, a covering of death but no conquering of death. If one is to live in Christ and have His grace poured over our sin, that person is also called to live in freedom knowing that sin has been conquered by our Lord Jesus Christ. The word declares those who know Christ are more than conquerers.

Pastor John,

Thanks so much for this article....can you recommend some resources that could explain in more detail the relationship between the resurrection and our justification. Reason for asking is that it seems that our sins are dealt with fully by the whole scope of the Atonement, and that through the one offering of the body of Jesus we have been perfected for all time(Heb 10:14), thus, what essential elements of redemption/justification are left undone that the resurrection completes? Can you please point me in the right direction?

Thank you so much for you faithful ministry to all the saints!
