I skipped over this post many times until today.

Now I'm glad that I stopped to read it. Apostle Paul puts me to shame. As do all the other unnamed martyrs for the faith once delivered to all the saints.

Thanks for this post Dr. Mac.

P.S. FWIW, I've defended you over at this blog post here:

And to read this on a day when I was measuring my success on my ability to plan a fish fry and retain restless church members. Thanks for the convicting AND encouraging reminder!

This is so true. When "we fix our eyes on the things above" (Colossians 3:1), our measure of success is re-defined. No longer does the "lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and the boastful pride of life" (1 John 2:15-17) even matter. Praise God for this encouraging article.

It's so easy to forget our call to faithfulness and a dependency on God to leave the results to Him.

When I read this, I was humbled, and feel ashamed that I complain about the very small inconveniences I may have.

To fight the good fight of faith, and to be faithful to Christ is what I long for, and yet find so hard to maintain. I have faith, but I need help with my unbelief.

Thanks for posting this excellent teaching from Pastor MacArthur.
