What a wonderful reminder about this most beautiful doctrine! This reminds us again of the amazing security that is to be found in God's gracious calling and keeping of His elect. Soli Deo Gloria!

I thank the Lord for giving us Peter as an example of a true servant, even a pillar of the Church.

Though he surely was "was impetuous, erratic, vacillating—sometimes cowardly, sometimes weak, sometimes hotheaded", he loved the Lord (John 21:17). And Jesus surely was faithful to work in Peter to will and to do, and his two Epistles give evidence that Peter persevered.

Gives me hope. I am so much like Peter. Yet I lack his boldness, which caused him trouble, but also God used in graet ways to glorify Himself. I wish I had a little of his boldness.

Thanks for a great post.
