Phil,

You are a blessing to the ministry of the Church of Christ and have wonderful discernment and commitment (In love) to the Body of Christ Jesus our LORD and Master.

May His reward for you be a great blessing in His eternal service.

In the grace, mercy & compassionate care of our LORD God Jesus the Holy Spirit through His eternal Word.

Thank you for such a great series! The part that breaks my heart is that it has almost been like the proverbial "preaching to the choir". The fad driven preachers are blind by choice. I would love to print off this series for the pastor I work for (we do not worship nor belong to the church where I work), but despite a great love for people, the love for God's Word seems to be a private thing here (and thus false). When did we as a nation stop believing in the power of the Word? I still see it, changing lives, changing motivations, cleansing hearts. Can it be that this is no longer what the majority of people want? Can it be that people do not want what the Word can do, and that is the reason for the fads? The "Woes" in Isaiah 28 & 29 are to people who KNOW God's power to change, heal & help, but they choose temporal pleasures (like wine) instead. Woe to the leaders in the church today who KNOW the power of God's Word and choose instead to give their sheep temporal pleasures and the permission to come back for more when they no longer satisfy. Thanks again Phil for teaching the TRUTH. Let us all continue to pray for the scales to fall from the eyes of the fad-followers.

The Word of God is precise, and eternally powerful. The Gospel is the power that saves dead sinners.

Thanks for such a good series.

I saw a preacher, Ed Young, who sat on a bed with his wife in the church service, and taught the people.
A bed instead of a pulpit. I wonder if this fad has caught on.
