Why do I still see some news articles by liberal scholars that claim the census described in Luke never took place? Sometime around Christmas 2005 or 2006 Time or Newsweek had an article claiming there was no data proving the census. Millions of people probably read and believed this. How do these scholars try to disprove the census?

Thanks for another great, informative post. I recently had a situation where an atheist was attempting to challenge Scripture on basis of contradiction and mythology, and sadly even some Christians said "yes, there are some contradictions but you've gotta have faith!"

It was really simple stuff that was easily proven wrong and hopefully the Christians involved in the conversation grew in confidence of the reliability provided by Scripture.

Posts like this one are much needed!
