Amen! I especially agree with the media influencing our culture! I stopped watching tv 2yrs ago and dedicated that time to Bible reading and prayer and to my family...what a change I see in myself. I am now influenced by His Word instead of tv. I don't think most people see how bad tv is. It is hypnotic and requires no cognitive input. It shapes your thinking process without you even realizing it and thus you are given your culture instead of making your culture. The culture today is men who act a lot like women due to homosexuality. The more you view this behavior the tv/movies the more you accept it without realizing it. Of course when asked if you are against homosexuality your answer is yes, but like a boiled frog you stop noticing the subtleties and then your children view it and begin acting like them and you don't even notice it. I say turn off your tv's. Even National Geographic is usually hosted by homosexuals and so are the "non sinful" shows such as home decorating. To be a Godly man who leads well, one should spend lots of time on his knees asking God for His mercy and guidance. Spend more time with your kids fishing, hikes, whittling sticks, skipping rocks across the lake, sinking your toes in the mud while looking for crawfish and turtles, teaching them how to work on cars or how to pound a nail and do it all while teaching them a lesson about God and His attributes. Remember that a leader is a servant. Teach your boys how to be a leader by fulfilling their duties in the household and your girls how to be helpers by not dumping all the work on their mothers. Remember to reach over to your wife, bend her backwards and plant an affectionate kiss on her and tell her how much she is appreciated for all the hard work she does in helping you. Study with her and your children the Word of God instead of watching that football game! Love Christ enough to give the one thing that takes away so much from you and your family....TV.
