Blogging Our Men’s Conference

Well, I am certainly no Tim Challies, but I’ve been tasked with blogging our church’s one-day men’s conference — taking place today, beginning this morning at 8:00 AM (Pacific Time).
The theme of the conference is Time to Act Like Men, and our speakers include John MacArthur, Alex Montoya, Michael Fabarez, and Phil Johnson. So check back later today for (my best attempt at) a synopsis of each session.
“Time to act like men”……….time to BE a man.
If a man has strength that is balanced with tenderness and compassion and has the ability to lead with GENUINE love then he is a man……..there is no room for an ego at the cross.
“Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?”

“Act” - something done voluntarily
“Be” - to have, maintain, or occupy a place, situation, or position
By gender, men hold the position of being a man. However, we need to Biblically (voluntarily) “act” like men. The title to the conference is perfectly fitting. We (men) all need to act like men as God has called each of us. I love the title of the conference - very fitting!
