Pulpit Picks

No, it's not a picture of me.(By Nathan Williams)

Well, another weekend is here. The Pulpits Picks for this week bring a variety of topics to the table: from the Super Bowl to the serious. Of course, just because we link to an article here on Pulpits Picks does not mean that we necessarily endorse everything written in that article or linked to on that website. Some of the articles may be good to read simply to think through the positions presented in them. So, with that as a disclaimer, here we go…

We thought we’d start with this out-of-the-ordinary church video

Josh Harris at Covenant Life Church has been preaching a series on Purity

The brother of one of the men killed on Mt. Hood about a month and a half ago is President of Reformed Theological Seminary, Frank James. He is blogging about the incident and the aftermath here

We thought this analysis of some quotes by an atheist was great

Time Magazine interviewed Dr. Mohler about his recent illness and here you can read about his first time preaching since getting out of the hospital

Tom Ascol wonders if the SBC has lost the gospel

Don’t just read your Bible

Here is a helpful internet tool for the Arminian in your family

Don’t forget that the Super Bowl is this Sunday…

I hope your church isn’t planning a party similar to this.

Does God really care who wins?

Not everyone is excited about the game

Enjoy the game if you should choose to watch it. See you on Monday.

Being in a secular univeristiy and living on a co-ed floor sexual temptation is something I constantly face. Whether it be a drunk girl stumbling looking for a nice night stand and picking a random guy or just looking at girls walking around in the undergarments its a constant battle. I appreciate Joshua Harris’s sermons, and they’re going on my IPOD asap. Can’t wait to listen to them!

    Soli Deo Gloria
