Great stuff John! I agree that questions were well stated. I take issue, not a biggie, with what John said about ruling out narrative preaching. I don't think we can rule out narrative preaching because people are used to it. The same elements that a person can use to make expository preaching interesting, is the same elements that can be applied to narrative preaching.

I also thing that most of the discourses of Jesus were narrative preaching style. So there is a place for narrative preaching in our pulpits.

Soli Deo Gloria

For the last twenty five years, I have grown in the Word. John has taught me to love the study of the Word. Expository Preaching certainly has been the method I have tried to follow. Twenty-five years of listening and read MacArthur has had an effect on the way I view the Word of God. The Word of God has had an effect upon my life. Thanks for this post.

Thank you for the candid questions and answers. This interview will prove to be a good resource to look back on time and time again. This ministry seems to be just that, a ministry. You folks are speaking to issues that are a regular part of my thinking. Please, continue to share the inner workings of what you are and why you are doing it. There are a lot of us "Timothy's" out here that desire to be trained, admonished and encouraged.
