Wow, this was such an encouraging post. Thank you for posting on that. So I've got all those random sins and weaknesses that the apostles had, when do I get to transform the world? =p

I've linked it <a href="http://mcshoo.blogspot.com/2006/09/reading-deeply_23.html" rel="nofollow">here</a>.

[...] Long ago in a church far away I first heard John MacArthur preach on the topic of the person that God uses. This article in Pulpit Magazine, God Glorified in the Nobodies took me back to that Sunday night sometime around the middle of 1970. It was the first time I really believed God could use me … a nerdy kid with little in the way of social skill or anything else. God’s grace and humor is truly amazing. But when it is all said and done it is obvious that the ministry is done only by Him. [...]

Praise the Lord for the humbling truth of our King using the debased things of the earth to make those things(us) into trophies for His Glory - not anything we have done or are but what He chooses to accomplish by His SPIRIT! Love the focus Christ gives us of not only loving and following Him but dying for the message as well. Mark 8:34 Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. Keep being faithful to Christ and the message he asks us to die for, AMEN!!!

"Their influence is owing to one thing and one thing only: the power of the message they preached."

These ordinary men were simple vessels that made themselves available. They were consumed with one agenda, that of Christ. They were not concerned with rubbing shoulders with the religious elite of their day. Their main concern was to preach Christ. Their message was consistent with each other, the same message that is found all throughout the New Testament, repent and obey. This message, this incredible message, is the power. May we never forget it.

Thanks for post it was indeed timely!
God Bless!
